Sažetak
The range of available bibliographic and factual databases and databanks relevant for materials is given, as well as the present state of the development of computerized material s data systems (MIS) in the world. Types of computerized systems associated with design activities are classified and described neat information service, system for development of product in design, optimization and selection of materials (CAMS), system for production engineering, expert system etc. Typical users of MIS and CAMS systems at three levels are identified ; developing-creative activities, business and control activities, operative activities. Basic structure, its elements, module and main functions of CAMS system are established and discussed. General problems and trends in the development of such systems are stated: evaluation and validation of data, metadata for designers, standardization, interface with CAD/CAM and CAE methods.
