Sažetak
The paper deals with a discrete nonlinear deformational model of woven fabric. The yarns are regarded as assemblies of tensile elastic elements interconnected in elastic nodes. In this paper, the model of basic cell is enhanced with an additional elastic element which allows for the change in distance between geometric axes of the yarns. Deformation of this element represents the lateral contact deformation of the yarns due to contact pressure. Geometric and static equations are written in general deformed configuration and the resulting nonlinear set of equations is solved incrementally. This requires the basic equations to be differentiated. The obtained system of rate equations appears tedious to express tangent stiffness in a closed form. Instead, the solution of equation set in unknown increments is programmed using an algebraic routine. Numerical experiments indicate the capacity of the proposed model to describe realistic deformational behavior of fabric in biaxial tension.
