Sažetak
Introduction: The authors have analysed retrospectively the period of last 3 years (2007-2009.) with 127 cases of surgically treated patients with carpal tunnel syndrome. All patients had available pre- and postoperative EMNG and other medical documentation in order to compare the postoperative results. Significant number of the patients had a long preoperative history of physical treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome. Material and Methods: We perform surgical treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome by open technique and endoscopicaly. For all patients we recommend physical therapy after surgery and control EMNG after 3 months postoperatively, and we have compared the outcomes in relation to preoperative case history. Conclusion: Patients with shorter preoperative case history has significantly better postoperative outcomes according to the objective EMNG control examinations. Even those patients with long preoperative history has objective and subjective postoperative outcome improvement and we also recommend surgical treatment for thosee group of patients.
