Sažetak
The paper discusses solar protective efficiency of shading gray cotton woven fabrics coated with TiO2 nanoparticles, incorporated in the fluorocarbon finish. The function of nano-TiO2 as solar protective additive in coating and durability for the tested materials after three month outdoor exposure was evaluated using the UV-Vis and IR spectroscopy by measuring transmittance, reflectance and by calculating absorbance. The characterization of the untreated and TiO2-coated fabrics was carried out using SEM analysis and by the assessment of the changes in colour and whiteness. The results obtained indicate that using the TiO2 at low concentration, it is possible to produce shading textile materials that subsequently can provide desired functionality and offer acceptable durability.
