Sažetak
This study is a review of general mathematical models for inventories management and an example of their application in a trading company inventories management. The first part of the study is a description of the problem of optimal inventories management in a complex trading company dealing with a wide range of products, where the function of goods ordering is distributed according to the types of goods among several marketing officers. The second part of the study is a summary of the existing general mathematical models for inventories management. The third part of the study is a definition of the basic requirements for automatic goods inventory management in a trading company. The fourth part of the study presents a mathematical model for a trading company inventories, which is made automatic within a commercial program package of inventory accounting, by application of which a company may achieve substantial savings.
