Sažetak
Inorganic fillers are generally used to modify the mechanical properties of the polymer composites. Mechanical properties of the composites depend on the properties of polymer matrix and filler, as well as on the interaction on the polymer/filler interface. Various theoretical models have been used to understand the phenomena and influence of fillers addition on the mechanical properties of particulate filled polymer systems. It is much more difficult to predict behaviour of polymer particulate filled systems in the case of adhesion because of the two simultaneous effects on the mechanical behaviour. Adhesion between the polymer matrix and filler increases the tensile strength of the composite system. At the same time the stress concentration at the polymer/filler interface reduces the tensile strength. The aim of the present work was to examine fitting of the experimental results with different mechanical models and to investigate possibilities of the quantitative determination of the interactions between PVAc matrix and chosen fillers.
