Sažetak
According to European standards for protective clothing testing of narrow textiles treated with fluorescent whitening agent (FWA) is included in specific protective clothing standards e.g. EN471, the European standard for high-visibility clothing. Fluorescent materials for protective clothing are tested on UV exposure, dimensional change, water vapor resistance, color fastness and mechanical properties. Narrow textiles that can be incorporated on sleeveless waistcoats, tabards, bib and brace trousers, coats and jackets with sleeves, coveralls, two piece suits etc. Regarding the background material the fluorescent narrow fabric (retroreflective material) can have different luminance factor (brightness). Therefore, in this paper polyester narrow fabrics were treated with FWA in wide concentration range for a purpose of studying luminance and brightness throughout quenching of fluorescence.
