Sažetak
When doing random packing of intervals [0, 1] in the interval [0, x], it is especially interesting to consider the gaps that occurs in such a packing. It turns out that the probability that the minimum of gaps is greater than h>0 display an exponential decay. We study here this exponent a(h). This number can be expressed as the explosion time of a differential equation and this allows to find the asymptotics of a(h) as h goes to 0 and 1.
