Sažetak
In the process of Croatia's accession to EU Croatian Government harmonises legislation with the European by adopting numerous regulations on small entrepreneurship. The development of legal framework is what state institutions can do in order to give incentive to the development of small entrepreneurship, but the problem is what a small entrepreneur can do in the field of globalisation process which reflects on its activities. The innovation – the development of new innovative products and the application of new, innovative solutions in doing business, opens new possibilities for their survival and development. The idea of design management represents new opportunities for the implementation of innovations in the strategy of small enterprises. This paper evaluates European, and especially Croatian small entrepreneurship awareness of these opportunities, and how to enable small entrepreneurs to acquire new knowledge in order to become open for the development of their own business in the condition of globalisation.
