Sažetak
Synchronous generator is the most common generator type used in power systems. Modern diagnostic systems require information of excitation winding temperature [2]. This winding is placed on rotor. If classic temperature measurement is to be used, wireless signal transfer should be obtained. This demands generator to stop working for, at least, several hours, while measurement system is placed on the rotor. IR thermography can be used to get average temperature of surface of excitation winding while rotating and 3D FEM models can give temperature distribution. Measurement has been done on synchronous hydro-generator (400 kW) in laboratory while standing still and in rotation. Results have been compared to the results achieved with Bluetooth® wireless temperature acquisition system with high precision probes placed on rotor.
