Sažetak
This paper provides an overview of foster care for children in Croatia. The foster care system in the country is described as well as administrative and survey data that describe the trends in fostering and features of fostered children and foster parents. The research results that point to specific experiences of children and foster parents are discussed. In the end, programs in the country that seek to improve foster care are presented. The conclusions discuss the experience of foster care in Croatia and recommendations for further actions and research.
