Sažetak
The algorithms of real-time road traffic incident detection are analysed in the paper. The paper also provides the analysis of integral road traffic incident management system. The main incident detection methods are presented in the paper. Special focus is on the detection procedure on open road sections (freeway). Adequate mathematical model has been defined as the basis for the realisation of the road traffic state variables estimators. The Extended Kalman Filter has been proposed as the estimation method. The paper concludes with an example for the realisation of the Incident Management Decision Support System (IMDSS).
