Sažetak
Freight rail transport is very suitable for mass transport of goods over long distances. Large freight rail transport users usually, almost as a rule, load their goods (loading/unloading) into wagons within the area of their companies, which means that they own their proper rail infrastructure called industrial tracks. Thus, from the aspect of railway undertakings the existence and the usage of industrial tracks is of extreme significance for generating transportation goods. In such relations the customer and the carrier use the industrial tracks with the same objective. The user is at the same time the owner of the industrial tracks, and thus significantly burdened by the costs of regular and special tracks maintenance as well as the costs of organizing traffic on the tracks. The paper analyzes the condition of industrial tracks in the Republic of Croatia from the technical and technological point of view. It will then analyze the operation on the industrial tracks proving the significance of the industrial tracks for freight transport by rail. Based on the analysis further procedures for successful management of industrial tracks used for freight rail transport are proposed.
