Sažetak
Labour market represents a central place where supply and demand for workers is secured and where price for their work is determined. It is affected by the basic trends in economic development and government policies of a certain country as well as institutional organizations and arrangements. Since it defines labour structure and participates in defining incomes of workers, labour market consequently affects the overall economy of a country. Accordingly, the aim of the paper is to present basic characteristics of Croatian labour market, and its connection with the overall economic performance of Croatian economy with special attention given to the analyses of participation rates of women and their impact and significance on Croatian labour market. Recent trends and future perspectives in women’s employment are given, providing information on their participation rates, industrial and occupational change, pay and educational attainment, as well as their structure among different industries and services.
