Sažetak
The present study was an attempt at determining the response of periphyton biomass to current velocity in the karstic habitats on a travertine barrier. Organic mass (AFDM) and chlorophyll a content per unit surface, as variables indicating the periphyton biomass, could be associated nonlinearly with an increase of current velocity. The regression analysis showed that the exponential model y = ae-bx fitted the relation between periphyton biomass and current velocity satisfactorily.
