Sažetak
The aim of the workshop is to examine the usefulness of text encoding using TEI standard in digital library environment for the researchers in social science and humanities which study the Croatian Glagolitic Manuscript and Early Printed Breviaries from the period from 1460 to 1561. The features that are frequently researched by scientists from social sciences and humanities will be stressed, particularly those that meet the specific needs of researchers studying graphetic elements in Croatian glagolitic incunabula, such as making an inventory of the glagolitic ligatures in the text ; differentiation and counting of the word shortening methods, recording designation of paragraphs and punctuation, recording the use of different colours and/or font size ; studying the text organization features in parts of texts assigned for different purposes, watching the space between letters, words and lines and other white spaces on the page in the texts assigned for different purposes. On the workshop all of the mentioned features will be presented using TEI encoding. Then, it will be represented the way to import data in digital library from previous TEI encoded document with additional context information and appropriate scanned images. The purpose of the workshop is also showing how researchers could efficiently manipulate with the text including continuing process of text encoding through the interactive interface of digital library. As a digital library we are using the EDICIJA (http://web.ffos.hr/EDICIJA/), digital library of Croatian heritage developed as research tool and framework for researchers from social sciences and humanities who is interested to study Croatian early printed books in digital environment. The EDICIJA relies on TEI encoding and it is conceived as a digital library that investigates and develops new, more efficient means of text presentation in a digital form.
