Sažetak
Tourism destination, as the framework for tourism products, is being perceived as an individual development unit, making destination management a crucial issue. The paper deals with the problem of the managing a tourism destination whose complexity arises from the large number of stakeholders whose interests must be harmonized. The paper explores the state of destination management in Croatian costal tourism destinations and the state of the existing level of cooperation between stakeholders. Based on stakeholder theory the study tries to verify that 1) the level of destination management development depends on the level of cooperation between stakeholders ; 2) indicators of sustainable tourism are in a positive correlation with cooperation between stakeholders ; 3) the application of sustainable development concept is in a positive correlation with the existing level of tourism management. The research results presented in the paper showed that cooperation between stakeholders is extremely important for the success of tourism destinations in Croatia.
