Sažetak
Material formability is one of the most important issue within the design of metal forming processes, as it determines the limit of possible deformation without cracks or other damages. Current paper gives insight into the determination of stress state of deforming body in the process of cold backward extrusion of steel. By combining theoretical and experimental procedure stress components as well as effective stress had been obtained which makes possible to analyze the process from the formability point of view. It had been shown that most critical zone within the deforming zone is the transition area at the inner diameter where material passes from the workpiece bottom to the wall.
