Sažetak
A short historical review of developement and application of St. Venants principle is given. As an experimental verification of the principle, two photoelastic models are presented and discussed. Numerical analysis of three thin walled structural members subjected to selfequilibrating end force systems is performed using FEM. The results of the analysis are presented graphically. The applicalibity of the principle to thin-walled members is discussed and appropriate conclusions are drawn.
