Sažetak
The pan-European project “Geochemical mapping of agricultural soils and grazing lands (GEMAS)” is carried out by the Geochemistry Expert Group of EuroGeoSurveys (EGS) under the leadership of the Geological Survey of Norway (NGU). The samples in each participating country (31 countries) were collected by the staff of the Geological Surveys according to the adopted common field manual. The analytical work was partly financed by Eurometaux and all 5 000 samples was analyzed for 53 elements in ACME Analytical Laboratory in Vancouver, Canada. The field work was performed during the summer and autumn of 2008. The sampling grid was 50x50km and in each cell 1 sample of agricultural soil and 1 sample of grazing land were randomly taken. In Croatia were collected 29 samples of agricultural soils and 29 samples of grazing lands. Croatian Geological Survey and Faculty of Agriculture decided to extend the GEMAS project and at the majority of sampling sites were taken samples continuously till 1 or 1.3 meter deep using the hand drilling machine and preparing the micromonoliths for the determination of the soil type in the laboratory. At 8 locations the pedological profile was dug. According to the determination of the pedological horizons in the field and analysis of the micromonolith the pedosystematic units for all sampling sites were determined. The analytical results show characteristic spatial distribution of chemical elements depending on geological setting e.g. Dinaridic or Pannonian part of Croatia. The differences in chemical elements content in agricultural soils and grazing lands are also clear visible. At some locations is assumed the anthropogenic influences.
