Sažetak
This paper proposes a distributed model of service provisioning process for mobile users which share a common interest. Namely, the proposed model enables mobile users to exchange data of common interest among them, thereby lowering the load on the ‘expensive’ link to the telco’s network and increasing the battery life of user mobile devices. Mobile users form an implicit social network and collaborate while downloading some multimedia content from telco’s service servers. An implementation of this concept, named Collaborative Downloading (CollDown), is evaluated on real mobile phones. Moreover, the effect of CollDown service on end-user experience is discussed.
