Sažetak
The paper gives evidence of the analogy between the shapes of crystal lattices and the shape of tools for assembling and casting spatially reinforced composite through the presentation of computer and real models and the corresponding crystals. The analogy between the cubic pyrite crystal and a structure reinforced in three directions (3D), the analogy between an octahedral magnetite crystal and a diamond with a structure reinforced in four directions (4D), and the analogy between a rhombic dodecahedral garnet crystal and a structure reinforced in six directions (6D) have been selected to illustrate the approach to simple spatially reinforced structures. The analogy between the hexaoctahedral carolite crystals and the shape of the porous structure of the composite material reinforced in seven directions (7D) clearly confirms the proposed principle for the complex spatially reinforced structures. The first Brillouin zones have indicated the analogy between the crystal lattices and the shapes of tools for forming pre-forms (porous structures)necessary for the fabrication of spatially reinforced composites.
