Sažetak
Recently the interest into the calculation methods that are appropriate at the lowest level of aggregation of a Consumer Price Index (CPI) has increased. It has long been known that different calculation methods for elementary indices give different results. The geometric mean is being introduced by more and more countries. The approach is to calculate a geometric mean of prices in both periods and then derive the price relative or calculate a geometric average of price relatives. Both calculations will yield the same results.
