Sažetak
The aim of this paper is to explore the experiences of connecting the European higher education institutions with key entities in the regional environment in order to stimulate regional economic development. With the appearance of the knowledge society in the last few years it is becoming more obvious that regional development is depending on the knowledge infrastructure as well as on the relationships between knowledge producers, local industry and local/regional authorities. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to highlight the importance of such cooperation, and to explore some European examples of good partnerships between higher education institutions, industry and local government.
