Sažetak
Dubračina is the main watercourse by which the waters of the central part of Vinodol valley are discharged and flow into the sea in Crikvenica. The catchment area is of exceptional natural and cultural value and the large part of the catchment area covers the area comprised in the Regional Development Plan of Special Characteristics in Vinodol Valley (2004). The analyzed part of Dubračina river catchment area is situated in the central part of Vinodol valley which is a separate geographical entirety of the eastern Kvarner region. Geographically speaking, Vinodol is a unique spatial enitrety situated between Križišće in the north-west and Novi Vinodolski in the south-east and the littoral alongside the Vinodol channel. The Dubračina watercourse is by its immediate catchment area surface and water balance the largest and the most important watercourse of Vinodol valley (Figure 1). From the hydrological point of view, the hydro-power system of Vinodol valley with its maximum capacity of 16.7 m3/s has a significant influence on the watercourse itself. This system comprises the Gorski kotar watercourses Ličanka, Likvarka, Križ potok, Potkoš, Benkovac i Potok pod grobljem. The total surface of the catchment area is about 80.8 km2 and the entire surface is situated at about 700 m a.s.l. The annual mean precipitation rate at this area is from 1420 to 3950 mm, which results in an annual mean flow of 4.21 m3/s. The power potential of those watercourses is primarily used in hydropower plant Vinodol situated in Vinodol valley at 56.5 m a.s.l.
