Sažetak
This paper presents an algorithm for the numerical analysis of two-dimensional static contact problems, with or without Coulomb's law of friction. The displacement compatibility over contacting surfaces is ensured using Lagrange multiplier method. It also presents, as an integral part of the solution procedure, a contact searching algorithm, which determines the possible contacting pairs according to the node-to-segment approach. The contact forces before friction update are calculated from the externally applied loads and internal element stresses. The friction update of the contact forces is accomplished by a local consideration of the nodal point forces and by considering the distributed tractions over contact segments. The efficiency of the presented numerical model is tested on Hertz contact problem.
