Sažetak
In recent years, the industry has started to apply data mining methods to predict and prevent social problems. The purpose of this research is to discover and classify the impact of various variables on life expectancy at birth. To determine and present key variables, demographic data mining was conducted based on available worldwide data from the period from 1990 to 2006. Extraction – transformation – loading (ETL) processes that preceded data mining are presented as well. Among other mining methods, decision tree method is selected as the optimal for the problem. The research was conducted using a freeware program for data-mining, Orange Canvas 2.0.
