Sažetak
This study contains the analysis of Lyme borreliosis in children in north-west Croatia during the period of ten years. Presented was the epidemiological aspect of the disease, especially sex and age distribution, contact with ticks, clinical manifestations and serological results of the disease. Serological methods were: immunofluorescent assay (BioMerieux Lyme spot) and Enzyme immuno assay (Sorin Biomedica Diagnostics). M:F ratio was 52:48, and in the age distribution the 7-14 years age group dominates with 67%. In 46 registered cases of Lyme borreliosis erythema migrans domantes with 41%, followed with facial paresis with 25%, Lyme arthritis 10%, lymphadenopathy 6%, general symptoms 6%, chorioretinitis 6%, lymphocytoma 4%, and peripheric neuritis 2%. One fourth of all Lyme borreliosis cases in Croatia occur in children.
