Sažetak
The spread of Borrelia burgdorferi infections in northwest Croatia was investigared through a serological survey of wildlife and domestic animals. Sera were tested by inhibitipon ELISA. Antibodies to B. burgdorferi were found in nine of 42 roe deer sera, and three of nine hare sera. Sera of wild boars (n-10), and catle (n-103), and dogs (n-13) were negative for antibodies to B.burgdorferi. Human sera were analyzed by indirect immunofluorescencent test, and ten out of 134 serum samples were positive to B.burgdorferi. We cobclude that wildlife can be used as an indicator for the presence of Lyme borreliosis.
