Sažetak
Campylobacter jejuni C.J.) has been noticewd in Croatia (Zagreb region) as one of the most frequent bacterial agents of diarrhoea. In thew paper are discribed the first results of clinical investigatiuon of C.j. enteritis in the Zsagreb area, together with the results of sensitivity testing (paper disc mewthod) of 278 recent C.j. islotates. 23, 8% of our patiewnts had mucus and blood in their stools. 65, 5% of patients had a fever lasting one to four days. The diarrhoea lasted five or more days in 52, 1% of our patients. Sensitivity testing demonstrated a 100% sensitivity to gentamicin, chloramphenicol and nitrofurane ; 98, 5% sensitivity to erythromycin, 98, 2% sensitivity to tetracycline, 76, 2% sensitivity to ampicillin, and 23, 3% sensitivity to cotrimoxazol. These results are discussed from the clinical aspect of applicaton of antimicrobial agents.
