Sažetak
The aim was to show the overview of sugar beet production in the Republic of Croatia for the period 1961 – 2007. In the mentioned period sugar beet area in Croatia very varied from 20 000 till 34 000 ha. In this period average sugar beet root yield and quality varied too. The best average results were in period 1981- 1985 (root yield 45.2 t/ha, sugar content 15.26%) and the worse in the period 1961-1965 (root yield 30.7 t/ha, sugar content 16.01%). In the period 2001 – 2007 average root yield was 43.13 t/ha and sugar content 14.71 %.
