Sažetak
The dynamics of the lipid monolayer was monitored by spin label TEMPO incorporated into the lipoprotein via its reduction with ascorbic acid. The reduction of the paramagnetic nitroxide into the nonparamagnetic hydroxilamine form caused the decrease of the ESR signal with time. The reduction curves show complex behaviour while the apparent partition coefficient of TEMPO stays unchanged during the reaction. The experiments clearly demonstrate that the reduction rate of spin probe in the samples containing HDL proceeds faster than in the aqueous solution of pure reactants. In order to explain experimental data the model for reduction of TEMPO by ascorbic acid is proposed which assumes that the processes taking place in these heterogeneous systems are determined by the overall reaction rate dependent on the local concentrations of the reactants as well as on their transport coefficients for the particular phases.
