Sažetak
Root and stalk rot of winter wheat caused by Fusarium species are common wide spread diseases in the eastern part of the Republic of Croatia.
Over the two year period of research carried out on ten genotypes suffering from these disease Fusarium graminearum Schw. was identified as principal parasite both in root and stalk of wheat. Other possible Fusarium species (F. nivale (fr.)Ces.= Microdochium nivale (Fries) Sammuels and Hallet, F. moniliforme Sheld., F. avenaceum (Corda ex Fr.) Sacc., F. subglutinans (Wollenw. and Reink.) Nelson, Toussoun and Marasas, F. solani (Mart.)Sacc. and Fusarium spp.) occured less.
The lowest percentage of infested plants was found at the tillering stages, whereas the highest one at the stem elongation stages. At the inflorescence stages, the percentage of infection was somewhat lower without major changes at milk development stages.
The differences in genotypes tolerance were not found.
