Sažetak
"Engleski jezik za studente stomatologije" is a course textbook at the higher intermediate level intended for students of dental medicine. It includes materials for an ESP course. The students are expected to have attained basic English to be able to continue their study in using the English language in their profession. The textbook comprises 18 Units. Tha main part of most units is made up of a text from various dental subjects followed by comprehension exercises, vocabulary and grammar exercises. Reading texts offer new vocabulary and dental terminology. Some of the topics covered in the textbook are History of dentistry, Branches of dentistry, Teeth, Deciduous and permanent dentition, Types of teeth, Parts of a tooth, Structure of a tooth, Periodontium, Tooth care, At the dentist's, Occlusion, Dental materials, Dental instruments. The texts are accompanied by figures which illustrate the subject and play a role in the activation and application of the students' professional knowledge in the study of English. Vocabulary exercises are based on the principle to link the students' professional and linguistic knowledge.
