Sažetak
The results demonstrated that female rats are more sensitive to picrotoxin (a non-competitive antagonist of GABA-A receptors) than males. This was shown by a higher incidence of convulsions and death in female than in male rats following the administration of equal doses of picrotoxin. A totally opposite sex related difference was obtained in mice, since male mice were more sensitive to picrotoxin than female mice.
