Sažetak
A series of ensembles of seasonal experiments was created to examine the potential of the ECMWF NWP model to simulate various aspects of summer monsoon variability. Model errors in monsoon regions are discussed and they may adversely affect probability estimates of precipitation, in particular over India. However, the model was able to reproduce to a large degree natural interannual variability.
