Sažetak
Fast development of information and communication technologies, and also data communication and network technologies, created a need for knowledge of network functioning and its configuration and also it's use in daily operations. In every organization, office and classroom there is required bigger or smaller network topology so it's knowledge has set a great importance for the development of modern business. Every computer that could be connected to the Internet must have a unique identifier, and unique identifier is the IP address of your computer. World Network IP address is actually a representative of the globalization of economy in general. In this paper we will describe the characteristics and use of certain classes of IP addresses, defining classes of IP addresses while relying on a network number, determine which part of the IP addresses is the network ID, a host ID. We will show how to determine valid and invalid IP host address in relation to the rules of IP addressing, and to define the addresses area and default (basic) mask for each class. Particularly we will analyze the importance of IP addressing, and interconnection of the companies and how it ultimately affects the business globalization. Besides all the above, we will show how important it is to even understand the technology side of addressing the business at its entrance to the global market. Business network today is becoming the IP network.
