Sažetak
This work is an analysis of a book by Jovan Vukmanović about the population of the Konavle region (J. Vukmanović, Konavli, SANU, Special edition, book DXXVII, 1980). A typpical example of how a romasntic approach to science can lead to pseudo-science, Vukmanović`s book would not even deserve to be reviewed were it not for the fact that it bears the label of the highest scientific institution of Serbia. However, this book passed trough the reviewing process of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and rts and is printed as a publication of that institution. For this reason it is from the scientific point of view a first-class scandal.
