Sažetak
The aim of this study was to assess to which extent the modernisation of the aluminium production has reduced occupational noise hazard for jobs with the highest potential of exposure. Periodical measurements of noise level were taken at the same workplaces using the same method, before and after modernisation of all plants. The measured values compared with the recommended Standard. The results of measurements are compared with the recommended standard. After modernisation, the noise was significantly reduced in all sectors of all plants. The best result was measured in Foundry plant. After modernisation, the number of workplaces with excessive noise level is significantly lower (χ²=21.315 ; p<0.0001) from 78.4% to 13%. Noise remained a problem in sectors where ingot casting and skimming the dross are performed. In Anode plant, after modernisation, noise remains a problem in the sector Green mill where noise intensities generated by mills and vibrocompactors, and vary from 95 dB (A) up to 102 dB (A). In Electrolysis plant extensive noise is reduced (P=0.0019) from 77.8% workplaces to 39.3% workplaces after modernisation. Noise further remains the problem at covering of anode where produced noise levels up to 100 dB (A). The modernisation of the factory has considerably reduced noise level in the working environment of all plants, but it can not be reduce completely.
