Sažetak
The paper is a result of a comparative study “The State of Giving research in Europe”. It presents a case study on the philanthropic giving in Croatia. There is a scarcity of research on this topic in Croatia, and the findings are limited to a small number of indirect researches dealing with civil society development. The paper gives an overview of the historical development of philanthropic giving, available relevant data sources on giving and tax deductions and finally, gives an overview of some main findings on individual and corporative charitable giving, corporate social responsibility and foundations in Croatia.
