Sažetak
Dermatitis herpetiformis (DH) is seen commonly in adults and adolescents. The disease is relatively rare in childhood, the estimated incidence in UK is 1:10000. DH and coeliac disease are gluten-sensitive diseases with common immunogenetic background. We report one of the youngest patients seen so far - a three-year old boy. The boy presented with one-year history of pruriginous erythematous changes of irregular shape with vesicles on their edges and with urticarial wheals, situated on elbows, knees, axillar and scapular areas and on hairline. After clinical investigation an asymptomatic gluten-sensitive enteropahy has been diagnosed. Skin lesions resolved with gluten-free diet. It must be stressed that DH has to be suspected in a child with dermatitis even in early childhood and that DH might be a symptom of clinically silent but immunologically active CD. The monitoring for prevention of complications is the greatest problem at this age.
