Sažetak
The minimization of water pollution is one of today’s main areas of scientific activity. The discharge of wastewaters from dye production and application industries presents a major threat to the surrounding ecosystems due to the documented health hazards caused by the toxicity and very often by the carcinogenic nature of contained organic contaminants. Hence, such wastewater needs to be effectively treated in order to minimize their toxic organic content. Advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) present an efficient destructive low- or non-waste generating method for the treatment of colored wastewaters.
