Sažetak
This Book of Abstract contains a abstracts of peer-reviewed papers presented at The 5th Dubrovnik Conference on Sustainable Development of Energy, Water and Environment Systems. The 5th Dubrovnik Conference on Sustainable Development of Energy, Water and Environment Systems held in september-october 2009 was dedicated to the improvement and dissemination of knowledge on methods, policies and technologies for increasing the sustainability of development, taking into account its economic, environmental and social pillars, as well as methods for assessing and measuring sustainability of development, regarding energy, transport, water and environment systems and their many combinations. Sustainability being also a perfect field for interdisciplinary and multi-cultural evaluation of complex system, the Dubrovnik Conference has during the first decade of the 21st century become a significant venue for researchers in those areas to meet, and discuss, share, and disseminate new ideas. The Conference was focused on the following objectives: sustainability comparisons and measurements methodologies ; energy, water and environmental policy ; energy planing, system analysis and life cycle assessment ; transport policy and management ; renewable and primary energy resources ; renewable electricity generation systems and heat systems ; thermal power plants, nuclear energy ; carbon capture and storage/sequestration ; advanced sustainable energy conversion systems ; biofuels and biorefineries and other alternative fuels ; hydrogen production technologies ; hybrid and electric vehicles ; water resources, water and wastewater treatment, desalination ; waste treatment, waste to energy and recycling waste ; cogeneration, trigeneration, polygeneration ; energy efficiency and storage ; heat and mass transfer and pollution modelling ; energy and emission markets ; food and agriculture, buildings and urbanism, sustainable tourism ; social acceptance, cooperation and education in sustainable development, etc.
