Sažetak
The authors of this study deal with the issue of (in)equality between men and women, which can be recognized and declared already in early stages of human life and work, and its effects to social system and its global function. The results of theoretical analyses of men and women’s roles and their real position in modern society, presented in this study, will be truly helpful in our comprehension of the facts in social system and its consequences. Creating of equal possibilities and opportunities definitely begins with education, because this is the area suitable for appearing of various trends whose purpose is achieving of these aims. But, the fact is that women all around the world, because of their gender, are those who are limited in their human rights which unavoidably comprehends the right of education, which is one of very important factors in redefining of gender roles. The results of empiric researches show tendency for abolishing of men and women’s traditional roles, but conventional wisdom still says that some jobs are predetermined for men and the other jobs for women. The authors consider that upbringing and education can change the traditional frames, and create systems where it will be less important whether some person is man or woman. In this study, we will try to explain and support by the results of the empiric researches, whether the topical form of single-sex education can help with this issue or it is really the way into ghettoization of society and increasing of gender barriers.
