Sažetak
The Trichoptera fauna in the karst area, which covers about 50% of the entire territory of the Republic of Croatia, is poorly known. The Krka River is a karstic, Mediterranean river with specific travertine barriers on two localities (Roški Slap and Skradinski Buk) and lakes Brljan in the upper part and Visovac in the lower part of the Krka. The spring of the Krka River is located 45 kilometres from the coast, and it flows into the Adriatic Sea near the city of Šibenik. In 1998 and 1999 systematic collection of Trichoptera was performed on the area of the Krka River, and in 2000, 2005, 2007 and 2009 only periodically. Sampling was performed on 9 locations, placed in different types of habitats: spring, travertine barriers, upper, middle and lower parts of the Krka River and lakes. During 16 on–site visits, 4792 adults were collected with 50 species. Diversity, distribution, ecology and biogeography of caddisflies were analised in the Krka River.
