Sažetak
This research aimed to define if there are differences in views of parents and speech therapists towards behaviour of children with speech and language disorders. The survey was carried out in the SUVAG Polyclinic day care centre. The examinees were parents and speech therapists who work with 24 children with speech and language disorders. We were interested in revealing how much parents and speech therapists agree in assessment of children’s attention, impulsiveness and activity. According to defined tasks it was set up the questionnaire and applied to the examinees. Variables sample from views of speech therapists and parents is composed on the basis of theoretical suppositions on dynamics and interactions in relation child-parent and child-therapist. The questionnaire consists of three parts. The first part refers to assessment of child’s attention (11 variables), the second part to the assessment of child’s impulsiveness (6 variables) and the third one to the assessment of child’s activity (5 variables). Following the goals defined by research and considering the results of similar recent researches it was the most reasonable in this paper to start from the hypotheses: H1: views of parents and speech therapists toward children with speech and language disorders regarding the assessment of children’s attention statistically do not significantly differ ; H2: views of parents and speech therapists toward children with speech and language disorders regarding the assessment of children’s impulsiveness statistically do not significantly differ ; H3: views of parents and speech therapists toward children with speech and language disorders regarding the assessment of children’s activity statistically do not significantly differ. The measures of central tendency – arithmetic means, frequency, variability measures - standard deviations have been established by the procedures of descriptive statistics. Significance of differences has been calculated by use of variance analysis. Research results confirmed the importance of objective assessment of children’s behavior by speech therapists as well as by parents. Cooperation inside the triangle – child – parent – speech therapist is the basis of successful rehabilitation and consequently good education of children with developmental difficulties.
