Sažetak
Thanks to progress in computers and numerical techniques, numerical modeling has become powerful tool in solving various problems in the field of energetic materials. It help us to understand better some phenomena, particularly to understand better influence of input parameters on output results, as well as to save time and money. In the cases when measuring techniques are still not able to measure a parameter needed (e.g. because of extreme value of the parameter – too short time, too high temperature and pressure, etc.), the numerical modeling may be the only possibility to obtain a value of the parameter. Possibilities to predict performance of an explosive by thermochemical calculation, i.e. to predict detonation and combustion parameters on the basis of its chemical composition, heat of formation and density will be presented and discussed.
