Sažetak
One of the fundamental problems in the theory of automorphic forms is existence of cusp forms for congruence subgroups of a semisimple group G over a number field k. The cusp forms for congruence subgroups of SL(2) over the field of rational numbers are especially important in the analytic number theory. In the paper the author considers the problem of existence of certain classes of cusp forms on SL(2) from the representation- theoretic point of view, using his previous results about the spectral decomposition of adelic Poincare series.
