Sažetak
This paper is an attempt at giving insight into the factors influencing young learners' motivation. The first part of the paper defines the key concepts of early language learning (ELL), with a focus on benefits brought by ELL and main characteristics of early language learners and teachers. It is followed by an overview of existing literature regarding attitudes and motivation in second language acquisition (SLA) and foreign language learning (FLL) with special emphasis on factors influencing attitudes and motivation in child FLL. The second part consists of a qualitative study on motivation. In the conclusion, there is an attempt to identify the most important motivating factors in ELL.
