Sažetak
In this paper the authors present a developed analytical procedure for predicting the wave load on horizontal cylindrical members of marine structures to the action of random waves, representing the nonlinear drag force by cubic approximation. Using Morison"s equation, the spectra of the horizontal and vertical component of wave force on horizontal members are defined by the spectral analysis method. A numerical example is included to demonstrate the potential of the analytical model and to quantify the effects of nonlinear drag force on the structural load.
